My **almost** finished classroom.

My amazing, new principal opened up our building today.
I love that I was able to go in and do a few more things
before our first “official” day on Monday.
I never was able to get my decorations above my lockers hung up last week.
Now it feels *c*o*m*p*l*e*t*e!
The Hersey Kisses string has a kiddos name written on it.

For my B.B., I was inspired by Doodlebugs Teaching.
I don’t “love” the one I created because I was not in the creative mood on
Friday afternoon when I forced myself to complete it.
But it will work.
The new teacher next to me told me I could take her side of the wall.
I didn’t know this before hand and didn’t prep anything extra.
I should of also of not tried to trim up the white part
of my machine after I already hung it up!
Okay, after seeing this next to Doodlebugs teaching, I am going back to fix it 🙂
I scored a new filing cabinet, 4 drawers!
Hello craftivity storage!
But this meant I had to get rid of a table this evening and move things a bit.
 Reading area!
This is my favorite area of my room this year!
I purchased one of the black book shelves for my own items
and ended up replacing every ugly bookshelf in my room.
LOVE!
The black drawers are storage of books and materials.
I left the wall above my computer area a little empty.
I’ll probably had some other things here.
My room is going from 2 desktops to 4!
I won’t keep that B.B. with those math signs,
but I felt like I needed something on there for back to school night!
I created my own magnetic borders with the use of some magnets!
Yes, that is chevron rug #2.
I still need to put up my alphabet and numbers.
It is a LONG story why I don’t have those.
My “Flavor of the Week” student of the week display needs a few more cones.
But…I ran out of that color of paper for the cones.
The gumball machines will be used for behavior.
Love these new additions to my room!
They are from Hope and Technology Rocks.
The picture in the middle is from good ‘ole Wally World.
I’m not too sure why it looks crooked, maybe I was standing crooked!
Word wall area (from Gingersnaps), new filing cabinet, and book boxes.
The black basket has recess equipment that I had donated from Donors Choice.
And old floor mats I need to figure out what to do with!
A blurry picture of my reading area.
I just had those 2 bookshelves put together today.
I quickly put the items on there, but will reorganize later this week.
Same with the baskets sitting next to them.
I’m saving that B.B. for reading anchor charts and group information.
This area, I think, I will be my new writing area.
I possibly will cover this with black paper.
But I didn’t want to mess with it yet.
I hate the baskets to the left, they need work also.
Don’t worry, they are organized in there.
I just don’t like being able to see it.
I guess I didn’t take a picture of the corner area with my items.
Oh well!
I stuck my calendar area in a new space this year.
I hate that space.
We never do calendar time in 2nd grade, so I figured it didn’t need to be on my b.b.
I had a different calendar hung up but purchased the magnetic board for myself.
I decided it would look nice as our full time calendar.
I like the idea of writing key events up there.
Our classroom rules and other important things will go around there, also.
And our schedule, that I have yet to decide what I’m doing:)
{I had planned to link up with the linky party for classroom pictures, but I can’t remember who is hosting! Please share if you can!}

  1. I love everything Alisha!!! It is so bright and happy! Those pennants are adorable. I laughed at your second chevron rug because I did the same as you! The Bubblicious Work sign is perfect 🙂

  2. Hi!

I love your classroom. Thanks for the good ideas! Where are your boxes that house your library books from? I am looking for something similar. Thanks!
