2 Stars & a Wish Craftivity Freebie:)

·
I finally have had a few moments to create a little document
based on the 2 stars and a wish craftivity I put
together at the very, very last minute!
I use the 2 stars & wish method to have kiddos reflect on the the quarter.
This is normally an activity that I do in the fall (first quarter)
& spring (third quarter).
But it normally is just a writing sheet.
However, it could be adapted any way you would like!
Maybe create a pocket at the beginning of the year
and have kiddos add a star each quarter on a reflection of their growth?
Then make a separate pocket of wishes?!?!
Start of this activity like any other writing lesson:)
Start brainstorming a list of skills that were “hit” really hard in the last quarter.
We make a giant list of this skills.
It will amazing you what things they remember and you don’t:).
I also have a conversation about honesty, etc during this lesson!
I tell them that when I read it to their parents,
if I don’t think what they wrote is truthful, I will tell their parents that!
This year, I asked students to write one sentence
based on an academic skill they learned or became stronger in.
Students also wrote one citizenship or life skill
that they have shown repeatedly over the quarter.
The citizenship sentence always includes conversations such as,
“Miss Peare, can I write, I am always respectful to my teacher and classmates?”
“Hmmmm….S…..have you always been respectful all quarter?”
“No, I guess I better find something else.”
Last, kiddos need to write a wish {goal} for next quarter.
I asked my group to include an academic wish along with a citizenship goal.
{“I wish to ____________ and to _____________.”}
