Pictures Galore!

For Valentine’s Day,
my kiddos made Jennifer’s @ First Grade Blue Skies cute lil’ Valentine kiddos.
They turned out super cute.
I traced her patterns on white paper
and had my copy lady copy most of the items on colored paper.
I got smart this time and showed kiddos their skin color choices,
and had them pick BEFORE I had copies made.
It is always crazy what colors some kids pick when it is completely opposite then their skin color.
The only item the kiddos had to trace was their hair.
We didn’t have much time to do the project.
I gave them all of the parts and told them,
“You have until the big hand gets to the 6 and it MUST all be cut out.”
About 10 minutes:)  A few boys had fear written on their faces:)

We also read “Froggy’s First Kiss” and did Jennifer’s Froggy activity.
The boys in my class were very anti reading this book the minute I read the title to them.
But ended up loving it of course!
They also loved making froggy!
Our hearts are a little bigger then what she had,
simply because I free cut them real fast as the kiddos were working.
I also like how the eyes are so different!
I told them they could cut the black smaller or what not.
{I love the purple heart frog in the top left! The eyes look great that way!}
Oh and the writing prompt is “My true Valentine is…”

Some brave souls in my classroom ACTUALLY listed friends of the opposite sex.

I was a little shocked by this.
A few pictures of interesting things I have found grading lately.
 Love tastes like “Romeo.”
ummm…that is a student in my class.
We didn’t understand the concept on this worksheet…..
But we did practice givin’ our teacher the finger a few times.
Not real sure how this marker exploded all over.

  1. I'm glad I'm not the only one that gets surprised by students skin color choices for art projects 😉
Also, the finger was hilarious! Probably not for you, but for everyone else it was.

  2. Ha! The finger! My teaching buddy had a child do shot the bird in their class picture and no one noticed until a parent saw it when her child brought the picture home!

Your other crafts are so cute!

I have some Seuss *freebies* that I would love for you to come check out! =)
