A little of this..a little of that. (class room preview)

·
After a morning of errands {lordy, 4 hours of them!}
and lesson plans finished for the first week.
I can now blog!  I gave myself “rules” for today!
No bloggin’ until finished!
During my errands, I made my first trip to Joann Craft Store.
I went to get this lovely cart on sale and then special 20% off for teachers today.
I made sure to read the regulations for the teacher discount online before I went.
Well, needless to say, of course that didn’t help me much!
They won’t accept an ID card without a year on it.
Luckily, I had a pay stub in my car since it came in the mail yesterday.
I was pretty annoyed because this is how I had to make my way
to the front of the store and to my car.
Here is a little preview of my classroom.
I still have some final touches to add to it.
It was an extremely long week including back to school night.
I’m excited for my kids though and loved seeing my old kids who came Thursday evening.
One of my harder kiddos last year, who never shows much emotion came in with a huge smile on his face and said “Hi Miss Peare…” and gave me a hug.
It literally made my day, week, month and probably year.
He was a challenge and will be for future teachers,
but I hope the calmness and how hard I work with him will benefit
him for the future years to come.
So, a little preview.
Reading Area (that will be my focus board for standards)
Desk area (I asked to get rid of my desk and they said they could, but it’d never come back from our districts supply building..so I chose not too.)
Front area
-That blue container probably will not stay there, just stuck it there during my process!
-I dislike that the alphabet is polka-dot since I’m not doing them this year, but oh well.
-Calendar still needs to be added too!
Word wall
I still need to put up the title “The Keys to Writing.”
The blue border is not so straight on the right side,
but I was so tired of climbing on things!
The piano is not straight because it actually looks 3D-ish in person!
My writing area needs fixed up (posters), just sort of stapled things
up for back to school night.
{as my desk shows, I was obviously taking a break from cleaning out my drawers!}
“Our Greatest Hits” for student work.
Do you like how the bottom pink paper is under the border a little?
I was so tired of trying to make it all fit, I gave up for now anyways!
I’ve learned not everything can be perfect in a teacher’s world!

I lovveeee the way my name tags turned out!
Wish they were backed in black paper,
but only had orange at home and wanted them done right then!

I also lovveee this board!
I knew those stick on shapes I bought at Michael’s on clearance would come in handy!

Above my lockers! I still need to add a few more music notes to the right side.
I guess I didn’t get a picture with the name tags up.
I’ll do that tomorrow!
Is it weird, that I really dislike the first day of school and first week for that matter?!
I’m always excited to meet my new kiddos, but all the procedures, etc.
So here is to a great start of the new school year for all of my bloggin’ friends!
