St. Patricks Day Craftivity + Free Writing Sheets

·
Last year, I blogged about this craftivity that was a very last minute decision.
I’ve been getting a lot of emails asking for a little bit more details.
Materials:
{I have provided links for patterns I have found on google, however,
 I just hand cut everything so it will not be 100% the same and may need to be sized accordingly.}
Circles/Coins
Crayons
Black Sharpie
Fruit Loops
Coffee Filters/Cotton Balls
Suggestions of steps/directions
1.  Review the colors of the rainbow
2.  Have students color the rainbow pattern.
(we colored a little of each space together before I let them finish it all independently)
3.  Outline the sections with black sharpie
4.  I would suggest glueing on the cloud & pot with coins before adding the fruit loops.
Or making sure kiddos leave room to staple on the pieces at the end.
5.  Have students sort fruit loops and then glue on.
Model how to glue them closer together and further apart for different affects.
6.  Add cotton balls or coffee filter to the cloud using glue.
7. If you didn’t add the cloud and pot previously, attach now!
Here are some freebie writing prompts to use with this craftivity!
Provided in primary and intermediate lines!
Writing sheets were updated on March 10, 2014!
The link SHOULD work now!

A few questions I have received:
Approximately how many fruit loops?
We had left over off brand fruit loops from Walmart.
We used about a full bag and a half of the big size.
Fruit loops could be limited to your preference, also.
What did we use on the coffee filter to make it look that way?
We used NOTHING but glue and a little pinching and scrunching!
The coffee filters were a last minute decision, also, due to not having any cotton bapost signaturells.
They worked great and didn’t stick to any little fingers!
I also use them to put glue in for the kiddos.
