Team Teaching Tuesday~Celebrating Reading Week In March!

We are in full force celebrating READING this week!

Our school does a theme a day!
Monday, we stayed in our jammies all day!
A dad stopped by during ready to drop off birthday treats for his son.
Cereal bars.  Great and EASY!
We decided to have our little treat after reading rotations with a good book!
Yes, I stayed in my jammies, also!  Except they were freshly clean!
I thought about wearing just my basic yoga pants.
But my sister thought I needed to live it up in my night gown, robe, leggings, and uggs.
Today was the day I dislike the most.  HAT DAY! AHH!
But I survived and no kiddo lost his or her hat due to playing around.
For word work this week, we are doing this adorable word family game from Vickie’s Unit.
For free choice, we played these adorable games by Kathy!
I had them saved from her website during a freebie time.
My Pal stopped by to check up while a group was playing RIGHT by the door.
She didn’t bother coming in:)
Just chit-chatted with the kiddos, watched, smiled, and left.

We also played/practiced sorting pairs of
antonyms and synonyms during small groups!
Pin the Tree Top was a hit!
Kiddos had a great discussion about the words together.

Other group members worked on Sweet Cupcakes!
I always pre-teach future “free choices” during groups,
even though they are skills we cover weekly.
One thing I always hit is how to to layout the cards
 effectively without wasting time!

And the final group members practiced sorting real and silly words!

If you are wondering why you are not able to find a TON of resources on TPT
using the key words of the guy who is famous this week,
it is due to copyright laws.
Most of us bloggers and TPT stores have went back
and changed our clipart to make sure we are not breaking copyright laws
or came up with a whole new unit with approved clipart.
This took time, effort, and energy.
Please help support people following the rules!
Please head on over to the linky party I have joined to see other resources available!
