Five for Friday!~Week 2

It is Friday, whoop! Whoop!
And that means it is time to link up with Kacey!
1.  We’ve had a blast mixing our snowman/winter unit into states of matter!
Here is our final bulletin board for the hallway!
2.  I lost one of my little sweethearts on Wednesday
and didn’t find out until it was too late to give a proper goodbye.
Many of us at my school are upset about this family moving.
Although, her siblings required a lot of behavior work,
they were all making such great progress this year.
Home life is rough and her timid quiet personality went away in my classroom.
She was my little side kick most days.
Her desk still sits like this since Wednesday.
I’m having a hard time cleaning it out.
I’m hoping she’ll show back up!
Sadly, they only moved to a school a few blocks up the hill
due to having to move homes and her mom having no vehicle.
It was just too far for them to walk daily, in the winter.
3.  One of my goals for myself this new year was to
take the time to pre-doodle up anchor charts {without student responses}.
I’ve always been a huge anchor chart teacher,
but normally just do them as we go and then they always drive me nuts!
My kiddos have been enjoying the extra time I have been putting in, also.
But….you would not believe how many markers are half way dry.
I can’t do a semi-dry marker.  Just can’t happen.
I’ve thrown over 30 away this week.
Well, more like I throw them on the floor as we are learning:)
Sharpies that have a dull point….are my worst nightmare!
I may be a marker, pencil, pen, crayon hoarder…but…it is a necessity.
I’ll be shopping this weekend!
4.  Four days of teaching and I am under the weather.
Thanks to my baby bro and kiddos.
My sister was nice enough to bring home dinner, medicine,
and my favorite……….TCBY
Sometimes living with a sister is a huge positive.
Sometimes its a big pain!
Last night she informed me that my blogging interferes with her conversation time in the evening,
since she barely gets a head-shake after her 100th question of the evening:)
5.  I despise pinterest pins that contain adorable purses, jewelry,
and clothing that do not lead you to a post with a link to the actual product.
Or even worse, a style/color that is no longer available!

  1. I am so sorry to hear about your student! I love your bulletin board – it's super cute and a fun way to integrate winter activities into the often neglected science curriculum! Also, completely understand the sickness. We have 13 confirmed cases of flu at our schools. Yikes! Happy Friday 🙂

  2. Pinterest heart-ache is a very real thing. I hate the dead ends after you've fallen in love with something. Or have to tell yourself you probably shouldn't spend $5,000 on that outfit you just saw, ha!

  3. I am having heartbreak over those pinterest pins as well. I love the color of those purses. I am a little obsessed with markers as well. I have a big bucket I keep them in, but it is too small now. I received a cute sturdy, stand up bag that I am going to start keeping them in so I can easily take them home with me if need be. I am buying new markers this weekend too because a lot of mine are also dull. Hate when that happens.

    Hope you feel better soon.
