Is it summer yet?

I don’t know about all of my bloggin’ friends,
but my count down to summer is on!
Since my trip to the D.R. is in a week, I’ve decided to start a new count down.:)
After an exhausting week of conferences + testing middle school kiddos on my day off.
Testing required myself and 15 others to listen to the SAME recording every 15 minutes!
And then listening to ESL kiddos responses.
On my “day” off!
I even had to get up at 5 a.m. to make it there by 7 a.m.!
  But I loved the kiddos!
I am one exhausted teacher/person.
Does anyone else sometimes just wish a family member could live in our shoes?
For a day?
For a week?
Maybe even an hour?!
I found myself having to defend myself to family
as to why I wasn’t going to dinner last night.
But I am alive, just so you all know!
I miss all of you!  And I miss reading blogs on a daily basis!
My sisters little surprise party has blown up in my face due to my grandma.
Long story.
It’s left me upset all day because during my teacher/student madness,
I was attempting to give her something really nice.
And the whole day has been ruined.
But I’ve also learned that my own mother will continue
to be the same way regardless of how old I get.
Not sure it’ll ever change and I should just expect it by now, huh?
We have a good/great relationship, on most days.
But today, not so great and it has left me upset most the day.
Simply because she heard what she wanted to hear.
Sometimes I wonder if this is how kiddos feel in school at times?
Now I have to get chipper and act like this evening will be the best ever.
And I honestly just want to stay home now.
So, wish me luck!
{I felt like I could post this because I really feel such great support from blogging friends!}
If you’ve awarded me a lovely award, thank you so much.
They have helped my week go along and I will be posted about it.
Once I get a chance to settle down.

  1. I feel ya! This past winter my sister yelled at me in front of our entire extended family that I had no idea what it was like to have a stressful job. PS: She's a receptionist/gopher. Must be truly stressful having a job named after a rodent.

And I do understand the mama drama. Those stories require drinks. Hang in there. Remember, we teachers are great actors! Hang in there and do something for yourself- like watch a chick flick with a class of wine and a tub of icing!

  2. I have stopped sharing it with my immediate family….my sister is STILL in college and everyone joins her pity party "oh how does she balance it all?!?!"
She is 42 and it's not balanced- her husband does it all…..but what do I have to complain about- right- I have bankers hours and summers off!!!! lmao!
